I recently visited Gula Southern Comfort Bistro in Queens, NY, and had a delightful experience. I ordered the Southwest Avocado Omelette and a Coconut Mojito, and both were absolutely delicious. The omelette was perfectly cooked, with a great balance of flavors from the avocado, cheese, and spices. The Coconut Mojito was refreshing and not overly sweet, with just the right hint of coconut that complemented the meal well. The ambiance of the bistro was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service, while friendly, was a bit slow. However, the quality of the food and drinks definitely made up for it. Overall, I had a fantastic meal and will certainly be back to try more of their menu. Highly recommended

Went there with a friend on a Sunday morning for brunch. The restaurant was empty. The drink package was for a 1/2 carafe at $20 each. We are older and didn't go there to drink and asked if we could just get a carafe to share and we would pay up to $30 for it. The manager did not agree nor did he offer any compromise. The carafe would probably have equaled 1-1/2 to two drinks at most. While the food was good we decided not to have any drinks there and just ate but we would not go back. Very disappointing that they would not compromise and the restaurant was completely empty. There are many restaurants in Forest Hills that we can get a nice brunch at that they lost our business. Such a shame!

Although the portions for the Cajun Spiced Chicken weren't large, the chicken was perfectly cooked. The asparagus was crispy. The mashed potatoes were creamy. The sauce went well with everything. The service was great. The decor was homey, and this is a great place for a quiet meal.

Quaint, kitchen and cute. I was being treated to a new local culinary experience. We were seated and water was presented. I requested lemons and they took a bit to appear. I had a libation called Caribbean Dream, which was topped with cinnamon. I felt compelled to attempt to stir in the cinnamon. I was between eggs Benedict and shrimp & grits. I recognized the shrimp & grits was topped with a poached egg and turkey bacon. No cheese in the grits (normally a must have for muah). I cleared my plate as was, first meal of the day. I was asked my ranking out of ten and I give it an eight. My brunch mate was happy with their meal. I would visit again for dinner menu options.

Southern food, comfortable and cozy spot with lot of good dishes. Service was good and staff was friendly. Would recommend.

The restaurant was good all around! The portions weren't huge which I appreciated and it matched the price tag. The drinks and food were delicious and Jade our server was sweet. What a great addition to the neighborhood and I love it was open late!
